Credo’s Cache

Each week we will be highlighting important resources. Check back each Friday to see what we have dug up for you. From this week’s cache:

1. What Does Jesus Have to Do With Jihad?: Nabeel Qureshi – Qureshi says, “In Christianity, Jesus shows Christians how to answer persecution with love. Although this suggestion might seem impossible to some and ridiculous to others, Jesus’s teachings were always radical, and they are only possible to follow if the gospel is true. If through trust in Jesus we will live eternally with God in bliss, then we can lay down this life to love even our enemies.”

2. Moving Toward a Merciful Ministry: Dave Harvey – Harvey notes, “When one party forgives what is owed by another party, it expresses mercy. Mercy comes to us, or flows through us, when an uncollected debt is wiped clean. Mercy means the relationship resets, as if the debt were never there.”

3. Why God Must Let His People into Heaven – Three Reasons: Mark Jones – Jones says, “There are three reasons why God must let his saints into heaven: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. With each person is one of three blessings that theologians frequently draw attention to: justification, adoption, and sanctification.”

4. 3 Elements of Your Calling: Sean Post – Post says, “Every Christian has the same calling, and every Christian has a unique calling. Wait, what? Every Christian is called by God to orient their life around three central commands in Scripture. In that sense, our calling is the same. Yet our individual obedience will have diverse expression. In this way, our calling is unique.”

5. Treasuring the Fleeting Days: Matt Rogers – Rogers notes, “This temptation is compounded by the Insta-culture in which we live. Now the effort is not simply to create moments our family will treasure, but to create just the right moment for others to see on our social media platforms.”
