Credo’s Cache

Each week we will be highlighting important resources. Check back each Friday to see what we have dug up for you. From this week’s cache:

1. So Dad, How Much Do You Earn?By David Murray – Murray notes: “Growing up I always wanted to know how much money my Dad was making. I never found out and didn’t even have the neck to ask him. It was an unspoken rule that you simply didn’t speak about that.”

2. Evangelicals Find Themselves in the Midst of a Calvinist RevivalBy Mark Oppenheimer – Oppenheimer notes: “Evangelicalism is in the midst of a Calvinist revival. Increasing numbers of preachers and professors teach the views of the 16th-century French reformer. Mark Driscoll, John Piper and Tim Keller — megachurch preachers and important evangelical authors — are all Calvinist.”

3. The Pre-Existent ChristBy Simon Gathercole – This is a great lecture by Simon Gathercole. This is definitely worth a listen!

4. What are some ways an aspiring pastor can serve his wife before becoming a Pastor?By Brian Croft – Croft says: “Aspiring pastors are usually chomping at the bit to become pastors.  Rightly so.  Because of this, those aspiring to pastoral ministry often times dream to the future to one day serve in that capacity and miss some very significant ways he can serve his wife now that he cannot once he becomes the pastor preaching every week.”

5. Seven Qualities of Expository PreachingBy Wayne McDill – McDill notes: “Among evangelicals, the term expository preaching has come to stand for authentic biblical preaching. However, exactly what constitutes expository preaching varies from writer to writer and preacher to preacher.”
